QUARAH

The life of our great leader.

 

Colonel Mahas was born in our capital Duval. Born in a poor family, with 9 brothers and sisters he had a very difficult youth. Living in a small house in a big city and fighting to survive have made him tough. He says that he wouldn't be the leader he is today if he didn't struggle that much in his youth.

When he was sixteen, he joined the army. Back then there were a lot of political struggles.and fighting between different minorities. All the struggles led to a rough civil war in the seventies. After ten years of war the communist took over our country. It was a huge dissapointment for Mahas, who was in the leadership of the so called 'rebellion for freedom' at the time. He swore that one day he would liberate his country from the communists. But first the rebellion had to gain strength.

For twenty years the rebels hid in the jungle, trying to survive and training themselves for a revolution. In that time Mahas made himself the colonel and leader of the rebellion. Motivated by the charisma of the new colonel the rebels were stronger than ever and in 1998 they started again fighting the communists. After a war of 6 years. Mahas overthrew the communist governement and made himself leader of the country. He managed to bring peace and allthough he was never elected democratically, everybody loves him and supports him
